Katie Groom

Katie Groom is Professor of Maternal and Perinatal Health at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland. She is a Subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at National Women’s Health, Te Toka Tumai, Auckland City Hospital.

Her research includes the investigation of therapies for the prevention and treatment of the major complications of pregnancy including fetal growth restriction (FGR), preeclampsia and preterm birth. She has been the Chief Investigator of international clinical trials, including the STRIDER NZAus trial (sildenafil therapy for the treatment of early-onset FGR) and she is currently leading the C*STEROID Trial. She is passionate about preterm birth and equity in access to care and outcomes and is the Chairperson of the Carosika Collaborative, Taonga Tuku Iho.
