Fiona Stewart

Fiona Stewart trained in Cardiology at Green Lane Hospital and Obstetric Medicine at National Women’s Hospital before working as a Research Fellow at the University of Auckland. She worked for many years in the Obstetric Medicine service at National Women’s Hospital and Cardiology for Greenlane Cardiovascular Service. She remains a cardiologist at The Heart Group, Auckland. Fiona is a general cardiologist with particular interests in maternal heart disease in pregnancy and heart disease in women. She co-authored the NZ Guidelines on Hormone Replacement Therapy and has written a review on Aortopathies in Pregnancy for Obstetric Medicine.

Fiona is a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Women in Cardiology Working Group responsible for addressing gender inequalities in the Cardiology profession in Australia and New Zealand and for promoting education and research on issues regarding cardiac health in women. She is a member of the Syndrome Study Group a multidisciplinary group dedicated to improving knowledge and care for patients with dysautonomias and related conditions.
