Bianca Fato

Dr Bianca Fato is a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Melbourne within the Therapeutics Discovery and Vascular Function in Pregnancy group headed by Prof. Natalie Hannan. Her research investigates key contributors to vascular dysfunction in pregnancy, including placental-derived extracellular vesicles. Her research is focussed on the human vasculature and developing new and innovative models of preeclampsia and gestational diabetes mellitus. An important ex vivo technique called wire myograph features in her research, where vessel reactivity can be measured in response to drugs and other small molecule inhibitors.
