Dr Vanessa Murphy

Dr Vanessa Murphy is a research scientist investigating the characteristics, mechanisms and consequences of asthma exacerbations during pregnancy and their health impact on both the mother and baby. She is chief investigator of the Breathing for Life Trial, a multi-centre RCT of inflammation-based management of asthma during pregnancy, with a focus on perinatal outcomes. She holds a Career Development Fellowship from the National Health and Medical Research Council, and works at the University of Newcastle and Hunter Medical Research Institute.
